Maasai Mall -- Natasha Martin, director of G.R.A.C.E. USA, stands in the doorway (right) with a project coordinator. They are visiting a small market town in southern Kenya to participate in a meeting of recently trained midwives. The Maasai are pastoral people, the men herding cows across miles of grasslands while the women build their small homes, care for the children, haul wood, water and cook. The men come to this town to market while the women sell cloth, brilliantly colored beadwork and supplies before returning to their traditional lifestyle.
