Maize -- These bags of donated maize, which will be used for school lunches, were brought by ox-cart from the school to be cleaned and processed in downtown Tala. Lunches at Mama Darlene's consist of maize, beans, cabbage and ugali, cornmeal boiled to a stiff mush.
